"Mom ! Are they still out ? "
Laughingly I reply "yes Mike".
"Mom ! You NEED to put them away, I'm tired of snow ! "
"But Mike it's not even March yet."
"Okay mom, March 1st is next Tuesday. Love you, Bye"
This has become a tradition at the Ray household. Every year when I put my Christmas decoration away, like many others I leave out my snowmen 'til spring, and every year I get 'The Snowmen Call'. Sometimes 'the call' begins with, "You know this is all your fault.". We laugh and I usually leave them out a little longer, because it will be cause for another humorous call in a couple of weeks. Sometimes when it is almost spring (by my standards Aril 15th is no freeze and no snow rule) and I hear there is a chance of a spring snow, I will rush into action and put them away so I don't get blamed for it. This years 'snowmen call' was little more humorous with the fact I could say laughingly, "are you serious, I still have my Christmas trees up". So my goal for this week is to finish putting away the two Christmas trees that are still up and because we are visiting Mike in KC this weekend, so goes the snowmen ! Once again I will look forward to next years 'Snowmen Call'.

My small collection of snowmen, that is reason for ' the snowmen call' Many of the snowmen are gifts, some collectibles and some I made.
Winter scene is a water color painting. I added plastic snowflakes with fishing line tacked to back of it.

This is my favorite snowman that I have made.
Love the pan on his head, the colors and the mice working on building him.
Made from wood and painted with acrylics.

Too cute, this little painted chalk board says "Make a friend today"/.
My friend Robin Hanna made it for me years ago and I smile and think about her each time I look at it, thanks Robin.
The mini piece is one made by RR Creations.

Love it, a snowman table runner made by
my sister. She got the sewing talent from my
mom, I can do some but not like Janet can, and
she does a lot of sewing projects and wonderful quilting.
Thanks Janet.

Our retro snowman, an oldie but goodie. Keith and I bought this as one of our first outdoor decorations more than 30 years ago. You know when we had a Gibsons? We still love it and put it out each year. When we moved out on the hill Keith had to attach it to a metal base so it wouldn't blow over but it still works, is missing a little paint but still lights up our porch and welcomes us home each winter night.
